#1. Win32 snapshots

The success of the Linux snapshot tests has lead me to believe releasing a windows binary snapshot might not be a bad idea either.

Today I wrote some new build rules, code, and module loading for win32. This means you should be able to compile easier in windows and finally get access to the svn plugins. I'm looking for some people to help test this. At the moment the only thing holding up the release is figuring out the best way to deploy gtk+ and gtkglarea with freyja. If you'd like to help or have comments post in this thread. Currently the build requires mingw32 to build.

OS X might get an integrated build later, but I never got enough feedback to really support it. I'm mostly doing this because I'm getting ready to release skeletal animation in trunk and dancer at nearly the same time. I need all the testers I can get.

#2. Re: Win32 snapshots

Here's a scaled down image of freyja-trunk-win32-20050807 running under wine and my cross environment! woo!

You can see I haven't finished up the last bit of callback linkage and the GL widget, however that's very minor compared to the trouble I had making the DLL format work for me like good old SO. Win32 build is now merged with the UNIX/Linux freyja trunk.

I will be providing win32 binaries next week to see how much people want it. I haven't ported the plugins, but I will if I can get a donation goal of some sort. I'm trying to justify running the project off the rails for a week to get it on windows. If you'd like to write documentation or support this project some other way please let me know.

EDIT

Here's a pic of it fully operational in win xp! I stayed up a little later to finish it. It's a little buggy so no binaries will be put up yet. Yes, I even ported all the plugins! =)

WIN32 snapshot for the test build is now up. Some features are disabled, but please report if you have any issues. See the download page for details.

New snapshot up with exports enabled, and I added a few more plugins. I'm going to have to start dividing the win32 snapshot into gtk+ / freyja / plugins soon. The new pak vfs ui plugin ( mostly for morrowind paks at this point ) isn't included in the win32 snapshot, but works if you wish to build it yourself before the next snapshot.
