Dear all,
I have been shown a letter sent to the residents last week in which the residents are invited for a private chat to talk about their needs etc. however it also states:
'...there will be a mix of 6 x 2 bedroom bungalows; 18 x 1-2 bedroom flats; 4 x 2 bedroom houses and 2 x 3 bedroom houses on the site...'
and further
'It is estimated that only 6 x 2 bedroom bungalows and 10 x 2 bedroom flats will be available for residents to move into, directly from Philip's House. These will not be sheltered accommodation but will be aimed at people over 55. Therefore some residents will have to consider moving elsewhere.'
Am I wrong in thinking that the whole idea of Philip's House is to provide accommodation for 'elderly' people wanting to stay in Grayshott who are not ready for a nursing home but needing a little reassurance of a warden on site?
And doesn't it sound like it is exactly those people that won't be able to move to the new premises?
I would really like to hear your thoughts on this, so please respond!
