So, it's closing down. What do you think the villagers would like to see there?

Hi chippy,

I wouldn't be surprised if Tesco have bought it and plan to extend their store.

If not, maybe a Costa or Starbucks as there is plenty of room for chairs outside.

Well I hope it's not an extension to Tesco's !!

A decent jewellers / watch shop would be nice.

Hi Chippy
I donot look at this site for like 3 days and all this happens.
I've not even heard a rumour that he is shutting :(
Must talk to the drummers in the jungle :)
I think it's going to go to tessco if they are on the ball.
If they drop the ball then Id like to see a mans clothes shop, but its not big enough for that.
No need for another drinking outlet, nearly every shop has a cafe attached.
So no ideas really, because i think that tesso's will have it.

The Health Food shop closed at the end of February Dogfish.

It would be best if Tesco did buy it, it is not a particularly attractive building, the shop front is set back too far to look good.

There are better other premises for clothes or jewellery shops in Grayshott, which we have had in the past and thye have closed.

A trendy childrens shop would be good, selling deisgner and surf-type clothes.

Hi Annon@195.93

Well as you say it 'is' set back a bit far BUT thanks to somebody who wishes to remain unknown, we see plans are afoot to change this.

23167/011 and
23167/012

Looks interesting. might be a way for tesscos to get even more space with out the hate mails if they did it!

Thanks unknown for the info.

and happy reading. If it was not for the fact I see tesscos where ever I look these days I would say bravo for the idea, im to to old to change me ways and think its all a ploy to get even more space.

The planning application is from a company called reef estates based in London www.reefestates.co.uk. They seem to be property developers/consultants with interests in all sorts of schemes.

The scheme isn't obviously an extension to Tesco by the look of the plans, but who knows.

I suppose the key to this is who does actually owns the unit. Whether it's actually possible to find out I am not sure. The Land Registry entry may not actually say "Tesco", "Reef", "Exploit&;Plunder Ltd".

Perhaps it's for the good! Wouldn't that be a refreshing change!

Hi again Dogfish/Andy,

Interesting, many thanks, hopefully Grove house will look more attractive, maybe they could put some plants in the brick containers.

Did anyone notice the error in the planning application. It states that there is 'customer parking to the rear of the building' I have never been able to park there, it is used by the employees of Grove House.
