It was quite a shock to read in the Herald that Fitz Folly, The Avenue have put in a planning application for an attached dwelling. I have looked at the plans and am horrified by what I see. The building does not take into account the Village Statemet in any way. The application is for a wooden clad attached three bedroom dwelling with it's front door to the side right on the boudary. The postage stamp of a garden left will hardly support the size of property. The Avenue as all know is a narrow road with a few parking issues! The road is used not only by residents but also by pedestrians cutting through another dwelling will increase the danger to all who use the road. I feel very sorry for the neighbour who has had to suffer from all the trees being cut down between their properties. What does everyone else think? Have a look at the plans on the EHDC website - application number 32473/002

I am also outraged by the application - no more infilling in Grayshott. The application is not for wood clad but tiles hung whichever it is it should not be allowed. The fact remains that the The Avenue can not handle any more cars. I am also interested in the fact that the hedging and tree were all removed before the application was submitted - funny that!

You've got my support.

Hi

Not wanting to say to much (hahahaha) BUT

As with all things times are a changeing. The goverment wants MORE homes in the south of England and that means INFILL. UNTILL villages can EXPAND outwards towards other VILLAGES, I think I have done this before somewhere :-)

Now I'm not saying that Infilling is right, But if done Right its ok.

Looking at the plans if Fitz Folly WOW I thought that it was an Extension, not another House.... Surley this needs to be looked at very closley.

Its not in keeping with the area at all and the history of the house needs to be kept in mind.

If it was for say an expanding family who had lived in Grayshott a long time and wanted to stay, or if it was for an extension then maybe. BUT it should at least LOOK the same as the OLD house, so it looks seemless at least.

If this goes through I can see alot of trouble/plans going through for 'extensions' to alot of houses in the area. And I must say that if this does go thorugh and others are turned down, then appeals would go through NP.

Just to let everyone who has a view on this application - the Parish Council will be discussing it at their public meeting on Thursday evening. The plans are available from the Parish Council office.

Hi G&T

Does this mean that if somebody has or wants to say something then they should go to this meeting then?

Or is it just a sit and listen thing.

Thanks

Good question, I will try and find out but even if it is a sit and listen thing, just having plenty of bodies there will demonstrate to the parish council the level of feeling we all have with regards to this matter.

I am outraged!
I cannot believe that a narrow dead end street full of young children and retired people in the very centre of the village (and particularly noted in the Village Design Statement) is yet again subject to possible infilling.
At what point did a property with one off street parking space being turned into 2 properties with 5 off street parking spaces become acceptable?
Its bad enough that all the trees and hedging have been removed without permission or consultation.
I hope that for once the parish and county councils will listen to the residents

Hi

I think they have to listen, its law.

BUT if they act on it is another thing :)

All I can say is if the building could hold the new build and at Least LOOK the same then possably, it looks so wrong thats all

Thank you to everyone who turned up at the Planning meeting last night - Fantastic result that the Parish Council have rejected the plans, However, this is only phase 1 and we need to write to the Council to voice our opinions and keep the pressure on to make sure that they do not let it through.

News just in that EHDC have rejected the plans for Fitz Folly on account of proposed additional property will make it too big for the plot. However, this is not the end, I am certain that new plans will be submitted. I will keep you posted.

Just to advise all those who are interested, a renewed planning application has been submitted for Fitz Folly, The Avenue ref: 32473/003 no notice of this application has to be displayed on the property so I thought you would all like to know. Plans are available to view online at www.easthants.gov.uk and at the Parish Council office Tuesday and Thursdays 10-12 noon. I personally feel it is yet another infill in a village which is on the verge of being spoilt by over developement. I for one will be objecting again.

This planning application is going to be discussed by the Parish Council this Thursday at 7.30pm it is open to the public and hopefully we will get the support of the community like last time to object to this application. Please come along if you are free.

Permission Granted!
What a sad day this is for The Avenue and Grayshott, both the wishes of the Parish Council and local residence have been ignored and permission has been granted.
