| 1. | Snow - parking - Village Hall car park closed? | January 10th 2010, 13:11 GMT |
|
|
Can anyone tell me why with the band of helpful villagers Grayshott has no attempt was made to clear to Village Hall car park? Which instead was roped off with a sign saying no entry.
I sat at work on Thursday and Friday in Grayshott and watched car after car try and park along the main Headley Road and then wheel spin and swerve and need pushing out when they came to leave. Many cars were simply abandoned in the village when people realised they couldn't get them out. Surely in weather like this an email sent out asking for spades and shovels to come and dig out the Village Hall car park would have been met with enthusiasm (grayshottt.com emails something like 500+ people). It would also have kept the main road clear for traffic, and the lorries coming into the village to deliver milk and supplies would not have ended up blocking the road. I know it's all very well having ideas after the event but is this something we could maybe think about for next time? |

I'm really sorry, I no longer have her details.
Good luck trying to track her down though. Sarah |

Pig committee did a great job again organising this years summer fun.
And the Samba band sounded great again. However, I was interested to hear what other procession groups thought about the length of time it took to get down to the church and Lyndon green. I was walking down with Little Sunflowers Preschool and the 40 or so minutes it took to walk down was a real struggle for some of the little one's. I was wondering if we could maybe do something next year that meant the parade kept moving rather than stopping and starting? Sarah. |

Perhaps we should ask Jim Leggett our community Police officer. He is always happy to chat and be of assistance, and I'm sure he will be able to confirm or deny details and let residents know what action they need to take to be safe.
If I see him I'll ask. |

I went to Godalming on Friday and along both sides of the roads the shops (in the majority) has hung up a simple line of "icicle" effect white lights from the top of the shop frontage. This looked very attractive and would not cause any problems associated with having lights going across the road related to high vehicles.
Just a idea. Not sure what happens after that.......... |

| 1. | Grayshott's Shoe Shop | November 2nd 2007, 13:45 GMT |

Just a small note to let people know that the shoe shop in Grayshott now stocks upto a size 8 in shoe's and boots.
I walked past the other day and saw the sign in the shop window and went in to check, and it is indeed true - FABULOUS. I have mentioned it to a couple of friends and none of them were aware of the change so I thought I would post this to make others aware. They do still specialise in small shoes, but now cater for the slightly larger size too. They are very friendly and helpful too. I was trying on lots of boots this morning!! |

I'm really sorry to hear about the distress this caused you. I would positively HATE to think of this happening to any of my grandparents.
If it would give you any comfort I am more than happy to let you have my phone number so you can call if you feel you need support. I'm not talking about great big heroics but maybe someone to come and sit with you, or just to talk to on the phone. |

The weather has always been fairly good to this event from memory. I remember one ye\ar it started to rain later into the evening, but as we are British we embraced this and partied on regardless!
The BBC weather web pages says light showers at the moment, but if we all keep are fingers crossed I'm sure we can change that. Looking forward to a fantastic day. Sarah. |

My aunt got a Wormerie from Woking council for £14.95.
According to the East Hants council web site (isn't Google great!) you can make you're own! or call 01730 234279 for further advice on "food digesters". Their info pages also lists a company in Grayshott "Little Naturals" for disposable nappies, right under the wormerie info, if you're at all interested. |

| 1. | Lost Mobile Phone | January 19th 2007, 21:50 GMT |
|
|
On Friday Evening (between 5.10pm and 8.30pm) I lost my mobile phone in the car park by Woodlands Hall, Headley Down, whilst visiting a friend locally. I assume it fell out of the car as I was getting out, (as I last used the phone to call my friend to check they were in as I was about to set off on my journey so had it with me then) and didn't have it when I left them.
It has been reported stolen to the mobile company so there are blocks on the phone and sim card. If anyone has found it I would love it back as, with all mobile phones now, it has pictures of my 2 young children on it. If you have found a T-Mobile Nokia N70 it may well be mine. Please call my home number 01428 714826. Many thanks, Sarah. |
