2. Re: Have I woken up on the 5th November? January 3rd 2008, 13:31 GMT

I tried to respond to yr e-mail yesterday but somehow screwed things up. I agree entirely and would like to see an ordnance banning outside fireworks except for 5 Nov and 31 Jan.

In my humble opinion, both ideas are very good and worth following up. Happy New Year to all.

1. Newspaper deliveries December 6th 2007, 11:43 GMT

I wonder if anyone could advise me from where in Grayshott or Hindhead - if anywhere - I might be able to order daily delivery of newspapers to my house in Headley Down.

Fortunately, I have plenty in stock - all colours (blood-red mostly), all sizes especially obese. Just post me a cheque for £50 and I will send you some samples.

1. Peter Hatch et al November 9th 2007, 13:28 GMT

Despite all the repetitive wingeing that stems from the keyboard of some individuals, I have never seen a tribute to Peter Hatch and his little helpers.

In my view, you are doing a Grand Job. In particular, yr contributions are well-written, intelligent and pertinent, with a total absence of personal bullshit. Grayshott should be so lucky. Again, my thanks.

1. DVDRs November 2nd 2007, 13:18 GMT

Some time ago, someone in Grayshott offered to sell me a DVDR - I have forgotten who. At that time I thought I had a working DVDR, but - dear Lord - no longer. Anyone want to sell me one?

1. Vegas in Grayshott October 7th 2007, 10:53 GMT

I would like to congratulate Emma & Ben, plus the many others involved, for organizing a spectacular evening of charity gambling at the Fox & Pelican. All those in fancy dress and evening dress seemed to enjoy themselves hugely - I certainly did. Could you do it again pse - soon

37. Re: Our Chemist............!! September 10th 2007, 11:04 GMT

I agree, but there seems little we can do about it. The lady pharmacist is very nice and obviously trying very hard but, to my intense irritation, all the previous (excellent) staff have gone (why, we may wonder), and the new girls seem a bit lost.
Personally, since I have to go to Alton and Farnham quite frequently, I intend to switch much of my custom to Boots until Lloyds get their Grayshott act together - if ever!

6. Re: 'HOME' page August 30th 2007, 17:51 GMT

For what it is worth, I think the primary purpose of the website should be the local community - partly because only a few visitors will have 'on-site' access to the site, and because it promises to be (is already?) a cohesive factor in village life.

And, while writing, may I suggest that a great service would be provided if the website permitted comments on local suppliers (eg, builders). Clearly, not to the point of publishing derogatory remarks about specific individuals/companies (because of the law of libel) but, for example, if anyone wanted to ask me what I thought of particular potential suppliers (especially builders, on whom it is very difficult to get an independent, accurate reading), I would be pleased to offer my own views - wholly rational and unbiassed, of course!

3. Re: Lost Broadband Connection August 14th 2007, 09:29 GMT

Two irrelevant comments.
1. I think I saw your lost broadband connection wandering drunkenly down the Headley Road last Friday.
2. I would like to use this occasion to thank you for yr splendid services vis-a-vis the Community website. Do please keep up the good work.
